Broadway Subway Project
The Broadway Subway Project is a 5.7 km extension of the Millennium Line, from VCC-Clark Station to Broadway and Arbutus. It will provide fast, frequent and convenient SkyTrain service to BC's second largest jobs centre, world-class health services, and emerging innovation and research hub, and growing residential communities.
In January 2021, construction began on the Great Northern Way-Emily Carr Station. Construction is expected to last until 2025. January 18-22 - The Broadway Subway Project Corporation (BSPC) is installing fencing around a portion of ECU campus, closing public access to the private roadway connecting Thornton Street and E. 1st Avenue. The fence installation is in preparation for the construction of the Broadway Subway Project.
The North Parking Lot can still be accessed via Carolina St (on the east side of ECU). This work is expected to have minimal impact on traffic or campus access. For more information on construction, visit the Broadway Subway website.
