OneCard

The Emily Carr OneCard is your University ID card that provides access to library resources, A/V equipment checkout, and campus facilities, including classrooms, shops, studios, and any other areas and resources that are assigned for your specific requirements.

Students

  • You must be enrolled in a class to receive access to an area.
  • Waitlisted students must wait until they are enrolled in a class to gain OneCard access to an area.
  • If you lose your OneCard, please notify Student Commons to get a replacement OneCard.

Faculty

  • Your OneCard will provide you general access around campus and into areas you are specifically teaching in.
  • Sessional Faculty: access is provided two weeks prior to the start of a semester to allow for prep work, photocopying etc., and a week after the semester ends.

Staff

  • Your OneCard will provide you with general access around campus and into areas you are specifically working in.

Do not lend your OneCard to anyone or provide access to a restricted area to someone without an access card.

How to get your OneCard

  1. Log on to MyEC.
  2. Go to "My Bookmarks", then go to "Emily Carr OneCard ID Card"
  3. Follow the instructions to upload your photo.

Photo requirements:

  • A current, colour, jpeg;
  • Centred on a plain background;
  • Head and shoulders only;
  • Eyes open and visible;
  • No hats or head covering unless used for religious purposes;
  • No filters or digitally enhanced images;
  • Minimum width and height of 425 x 425 pixels.

Continuing Studies Students

  • Go to https://myphoto.ecuad.ca
  • Log in using your myEC Username and Password
  • Follow instructions and prompts to upload your photo by Monday for your OneCard to be available for pickup on Wednesday of the same week.

OneCard Pick-Up Location: ECU Security Office, Room A2014
Enter through the main (South) entrance. The Security Office is located to the left, behind the Information Desk. Use the phone beside the office door to call security if no one is available.

Please note if you submit a new photo for a replacement OneCard, your current OneCard will be deactivated when your new card is printed. ECU is currently not charging a fee for replacement OneCards, but we ask that you avoid reprinting your card unnecessarily.

Having trouble with your OneCard?

If your OneCard doesn't work, please email cardaccess@ecuad.ca with the following information:

  • your name
  • student/staff/faculty number
  • the areas/rooms where your card won't work

Do not lend your OneCard to anyone or provide access to a restricted area to someone without an access card.

Please notify Facilities, Student Commons, or Security immediately if you lose your OneCard.
