The review committee to oversee the presidential review process has been staffed!

The committee includes Board Members and members of the ECU community, such as students, staff, faculty and alumni. Learn more about the members.

The Board of Governors is responsible for the president's recruitment, appointment, compensation, and performance review. Dr. Gillian Siddall was appointed as the 10th President of Emily Carr University in 2018 and is currently serving under an initial five-year contract with the Board.

The review committee’s mandate is to provide a recommendation to the Board, informed by the president’s role and responsibilities and feedback from the ECU community. This process aligns with the ECU Policy on Presidential Review for Re-Appointment, approved by the Board of Governors and Senate.

Over the next few months, there will be opportunities to share your critical feedback on the work and current priorities for the president and areas for renewed focus. All members of the ECU community will be invited to provide confidential input, and these submissions will be collected and anonymized by an external firm hired by the board.

We will share all the latest announcements and community engagement opportunities on the Presidential Review hub. Please get in touch with the Interim University Secretary, Heather Sanford, if you have any questions at hsanford@ecaud.ca.
