Get Involved

The strategic plan is an opportunity to articulate priorities and objectives that will guide Emily Carr over the next few years as we continue to identify values that support our core mandate.

Your feedback will be crucial during this process. We know each member of our community supports teaching, learning, creative practice and research at Emily Carr through distinctive, valuable activities. There will be multiple opportunities for you to participate and share your thoughts and ideas through events, surveys, and focus groups during the planning process in the fall.

Focus Groups

We invite you to register for a 90-minute focus group where we will explore questions about our purpose as a public art + design university, what success might look like ten years from now, and some of the challenges and opportunities we face.

Each group has space for 15 participants and will be filled on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please register for one focus group only to allow as many people to participate as possible. Sessions already at capacity will no longer appear as a sign-up option in the links below. If your preferred dates are full, reach us at strategicplan@ecuad.ca to let us know. We will notify you of additional upcoming sessions

Participate with your peer group, or join a mixed group session to meet a cross-section of community members! Light refreshments will be served.

Our facilitators are Dorla Tune and JP Baker from Vantage Point, who have been supporting us throughout the strategic planning process. A notetaker will be present to capture the critical ideas and issues. Notes from each discussion will not be attributed to specific individuals.
